Other materials that breathes less than seaweed might start to rot or mould as they absorb moisture.

Cotton is one of the oldest plants that has been grown. It has already been cultivated 3000B.C. Fibre extracted from cotton is naturally resistant, durable and absorbent. These fibres are woven into a mattress are the basis of an authentic Japanese futon mattress. Natural raw cotton gives the mattress a unique elasticity, which also means that the mattress follows your body when you sleep and supports for your back.
